City of Boston traffic advisories:
Longfellow Bridge Reconstruction
In July 2013, MassDOT will begin a multi-year project to reconstruct the Longfellow Bridge. While maintaining most subway, pedestrian, and bicycle access, there will be significant reductions on vehicle access and potentially slower travel speeds across the bridge to ensure safety during construction.
For additional information on this project please see MassDOT’s website.
Yawkey Station Construction
Started in 2010, construction on the new Yawkey Commuter Rail Station in the Fenway will provide full-service to trains traveling along the Worcester/Framingham line. The project is the central part of a major transit oriented development project on the air-rights over the MA Turnpike that will add more than 300,000 square feet of commercial space and hundreds of residential units.
